Even though IL is mostly flat a 10 speed with 3.36s suck, if the trans was a 13 or 18 speed it would be better but realistically local in Chicago area you want atleast a 3.55 rear especially with a 10 speed which is all you really need what speed do you plan running it at? A 3.55 rear end with lowpro 22.5 tires will put you about 1500rpm at 65mph. I would heed tree's advice about the inframe too, but if I was in your shoes I would find a good flattop/daycab freightliner with a Detroit motor and save the money towards a properly spec'd truck! There's a reason why there's so many of them especally from a certain company that starts with a "P" and its because they won't die.
