RE: X15 questions 2020 X15 Productivity Series ratings from 430-500 horsepower share a hardware set with the Cummins X15 Efficiency Series ratings. The higher output ratings from 565-605 hp use higher-capacity components from the X15 Performance Series ratings. This dual engineering strategy ensures that the X15 Productivity Series has the output required to meet power demands while optimizing fuel economy and operating costs. The rpm levels are set to match the job requirements of specific applications. Cummins continues to offer both Rear Engine Power Takeoff (REPTO) and Front Engine Power Takeoff (FEPTO) on X15 Productivity Series engines. RE: X15 questions Pretty sure the only difference is the programming and not any of the hard parts.

RE: X15 questions From the sound of the description on Cummins page the productivity series is efficiency series pistons and performance series cylinder heads injectors/turbo not so sure.

What would be the point? Seems redundant doesn't it? I know there is a factory 605 hp file for the performance series.

RE: X15 questions From what I was told the efficiency series pistons are lower compression and is actually better for power, especially if you're cramming 600+hp into a motor. I'm almost wondering when overhaul time comes if there would be any benefit using 2250/2350 pistons to increase efficiency and power without throwing everything out of whack or putting a stupid amount of power at it to gain what may have been lost due to higher compression.

RE: X15 questions Injection strategy would probably have to be completely changed if you drastically lower the compression . I'm sure that's not a problem around here though lol. And probably different injectors now that I think about it.
