I kind of like the idea of having a quick check indicator on the fuel lines. When they come with a restriction gauge from the factory, KW usually T into the Davco outlet fitting and run -4 size hose to the cab.

RE: Fuel/water separator filter turning black I’m glad as well to hear that it is normal. Thanks for everyone’s input. I have the oem fuel filter gauge as well, I thought that was for the fuel filter not the water separator?

RE: Fuel/water separator filter turning black My filter doesn't go black. Darker but not black. Every couple months I fill full tanks with shock dose Biocide before parking for my days off to let it work. Also fuel supplier can have bad fuel. Once got something like green slime covered filter after fueling.

RE: Fuel/water separator filter turning black Mine stays clean, but I am picky about where I purchase fuel. Only straight diesel, no bio or whatever else outfits like Flying J and Pilot pollute their fuel with. I primarily purchase from TA and Petro. RE: Fuel/water separator filter turning black I used to haul fuel, bio is not always a choice of fueling station but rather the State mandate for where it's located. For example Minnesota from April to October I believe,is 20 percent bio, mandated and October to April 10 percent
