Right now I am removing pan and inspecting mains (just hit copper but I think I can clean them up) and trying to see camshaft lobes but have not made it that far yet.(04-14-2018 )Hammerhead Wrote:How did it ever run(04-14-2018 )T660isx Wrote: My fuel pump is failing I had to take it to the dealer to get checked out Thursday said it was the switch on the back of the pump came back a week later so is the whole pump I have an old threecylinder pump thoughts on what I should doJust stop driving it and repair it now or I’m on borrowed time any thoughts

RE: ISX15 CM2250 fuel pump timeframe? You have some old style pump. Broken plunger shavings could already damage your engine..and possibly go into oil galleries to main bearings. Newer pump is two barrels and head has only 4 bolts. I actually did update my pump at 440,000miles on my cm2350. I put video on youtube how to replace internal parts. They are much cheapier than whole pump. I spent about $120 on barrel and plunger assembly kit and $300 on new design tappets. You need to still rebuild every 300,000 to 400,000 miles. And no telling when they will fail, it may be much sooner. Not good.

Pump will work just fine with steel plungers and updated tappets.(04-14-2018 )simon999 Wrote: You have some old style pump.
