Yes I did

That is why I use a calculator made for the engine. I do not like to guess at anything.

What is the max hp and torque that can be obtained for this motor.

You weren't very specific...

That would totally depend on if the emissions was still in tact, and if your looking for a factory program or possibilities with custom tuning methods..

You also did not mention your application, like if it is for a truck you intend to haul freight with that you expect to go a million miles with, etc.

the highest factory program without causing emissions issues would be this one..

-- AV10183.xx (475-HP) (CPL 2732) - AV10236 for newer DPF Style. It has 1745 ft-lbs in the 1100-1600 rpm band.

Let me try again.

2009 Prostar
Egr and dpf deleted. Pulling hoppers, grossing 79000-80000
Running okla, tx, ks, and ar. So pulling some hills.

Thanks

If your de-mandate is NOT proper MM-style tuning, then I feel sorry for your engine. There are so many bad deletes out there for CM871 it is not funny.

A mid-range CM871 engine can be set to upwards of 800HP without any hardware changes with proper custom tuning fairly easily. On the other hand, any engine that you make work harder will wear out quicker and be prone to more trouble. The harder you work any kind of mechanical device, the shorter its life will be. I never recommend putting more than about 575 in one if you want it to live 1 million+. As well,.. you should consider the fact that a Prostar just does not have the CAC and cooling to properly handle much above about 550-HP any ways. they aren't made for high power applications, and even the frame is thin on them and will have issues with flex and twist much above that too.

My personal take on it is that anyone that wants much more than that in a prostar either has the wrong equipment for the job they do, or is only doing so to satisfy their own ego above actually making money.

80,000 gross is NOT heavy haul at all. I haul that around all day long with 450HP in my prostar, out west, through the big mountains, and everywhere else too. I have no problems whatsoever. My priorities are in actually making money I can keep instead of wasting it on a truck that has beed turned up high and does nothing but make some's ding dong harder because it can go up a hill a bit faster.

-- AV10069.xx (450-HP) (CPL 2732) - AV10227 for newer DPF Style. Stronger torque (1650) in the 1150 to 1500 rpm range.

-- AV10070.xx (450-HP) (CPL 2732) - AV10229 for newer DPF Style. (Limited to 400-HP in the 1050-1400 RPM range only)

Someone turned the truck down to 400-hp in the 1050-1400 RPM range by putting the 10070 cal in it.
