LOSSING POWER Hello everyone, maybe someone can chime in some input, I have a 871 I can drive down the road for about 60 miles then the truck start to loose power, I have replaced the gear pump and the lift pump a while back, there is no white smoke, but you can smell heavy diesel fumes when it totally loses power. I have to sit with the truck off for about 5 minutes before it start back up and drive again for another 15 miles and loose power again. I also provided some pictures of the turbo, I do idle a lot of times I just hope is not the turbo... Thank you in advance for your help User's Signature: I stand on a square, I am always seeking light... Just old traveling man lost in the wilderness my compass is pointing me to the East!!!!

RE: LOSSING POWER That sure is a lot of oil in the outlet. That o-ring is shot also. If it is still mandated I would say your going into a derate and with that much oil coming from the turbo I'd say DPF troubles are in your near future. The power issues are most likely silent derates from God only knows what sustem. Either take it in to have the mandate removed or get ready to spend $12000 or more on a turbo, actuator, DOC, DPF, and a steam cleaning of the CAC system.

RE: LOSSING POWER No mandate...which revision are you running? Have you checked endplay of your turbo shaft? Also check your egr block is not loose. Pull the cast iron doser housing and make sure it's not leaking with the engine running. What condition is your IMAP sensor in? Just a few of the easy things to check.

RE: LOSSING POWER Ugh one of "those" trucks. How is your oil temperature? The egr cooler is an integral part of the oil cooler circuit. Without it there is 0 flow into the oil cooler water jacket unless a bypass tube was installed from the back of the water pump to the rear of the engine. You may be getting oil temperature derate.
