RE: Cm570 build (07-26-2017 )AussieISX Wrote: Bit of progress the last couple of days. Should be making noise by the weekend. Fitted up a new 2050 easy pedal clutch and did a heap of re-ferb work on the harness. Re bushed the spring mounts on the chassis and painted and fitted new springs while the engine was out . Still need to strip and clean the radiator and fit new gaskets on the tanks A truly noble effort, by a great craftsman KUDO'S User's Signature: It's hard to win an argument with a smart person, but it's damn near impossible to win an argument with a stupid person

RE: Cm570 build Is that one of those anti-air fuel systems on the chassis? Do you notice a difference with it or has it only gone on recently?

RE: Cm570 build Yeah it's an airdog. Had a lot of trouble with the fuel pro primary filter allowing air into the system. Ruined a few injectors until I realised what the problem was . Threw away the fuel pro and fitted that up . No change in fuel use but I never expected any . With the injector design in the hpi system any air in the system can mess with timing badly among other issues. I have no air anymore

RE: Cm570 build Got a bit more done last couple of days. Intake manifold is different as is the thermostat housing so I fabricated the boost pipe and top radiator pipe . Pretty much all plumbed now and ready to fire

RE: Cm570 build Very nice workmanship! I'm impressed. Do I just not see it in your pics, I would have thought you guys over there with the weight you're packing would run dual steering boxes. That's fairly standard over in NA for heavy truck front ends... by heavy I mean most units grossing over 150k/16k + steering axles, run dual boxes User's Signature: Why? Why do I always ask "why?" RE: Cm570 build All single boxes , steer axle limit is 7 tonne about 15400lbs , no problem steering them

RE: Cm570 build Yeah on my tri drive with 425 tires running 7300kg I've got dual steer. Turns easier then my other highway spec trucks. Amazing work! Wow. User's Signature: I'm no mechanic, I'm just a guy that breaks down enough to know a bit.
