Cummins. Throw that aftermarket crap in there and you will be doing this again in under two years. And who is doing the work? Do you know if they know how to rebuild a Cummins motor? The dealership I had mine rebuilt at, with Cummins certified techs, did a crap job. Bearings were shot, installed wrong parts, total nightmare! Two years to the day, liner fretted, head shot, etc.

Don’t be stupid like myself, good luck.

And buy a NEW head, remans tend to fail in short order. Make sure they cut the block too, .014 on the liner heights!

Ipd make good kits for Cummins. But only use NEW Cummins head. Check with Unilevers on this site.

I would not put aftermarket parts in a 2250, just asking for trouble. To each his own.

RE: Cm2250 drinking coolant
i have alot of respect for IPD these days and they make good parts. Alot of engines are done here with IPD parts - but i do use some OEM parts like heads and injectors, turbos etc.

APR's are crap anyways.

I’m thinking the high compression, how are their pistons? Not that I’m an expert by any means, but hanging out at Mr Hagg’s shop and what we found in my motor, I would have to question this in regards to programming. Am I off base here?

Since 95% of all DE-mandate programming results in a blown head gasket or a cracked head,..

Iam interested in this Head issue
I wonder what the allowable delta T is across the Head ...
perhaps Cummins may have that figure

Max recommended EGT post turbo is roughly 900 - 950F. Anything much more and the turbocharger life is shortened.
