Cat C15 Acert oil pressure issue Driver said oil pressure while driving went straight to 0 and had no throttle response. As he put it in neutral, oil pressure went back up to normal. He said that happened to him twice today on a 500 miles run today. I checked the codes with Cat ET and there 285-7 and 385-1 code. 385-1 low intake valve actuation system oil pressure 285-7 intake valve actuator #1 not responding. My concern is why would the oil pressure gauge go straight to 0 and come back if the problem seems to be in the intake valve actuators/housings?

RE: Cat C15 Acert oil pressure issue Have seen the ISX do that and it was the sending unit going bad. Or, you could have a short in the wiring, that is where I would start, wiring and then oil pressure sending unit. No clue on the codes.
