CM870 power loss
Today my truck started to lose power to the point where I would have the pedal to the floor and it barely moved. What I did notice when this was happening was that I couldn’t hear the turbo spooling. After a while I heard the turbo spool up and the power was back. What could be the cause of this?

RE: CM870 power loss
A bad vgt air box, a bad vgt turbo, a plugged up fuel filter...so many things but if the filter was plugged that bad I'd expect a fuel pressure code....the turbo system on the 870 is not monitored so I'd suspect the turbo to be binding.

How do I test to see if any of those are the problem?

I will say that it’s had between 3-5 Fault codes and currently 3.I have the inline but was waiting to get the laptop, but I went ahead and told my wife to get one at Bestbuy today and I should be able to see them tomorrow.

RE: CM870 power loss
Put 60 psi regulated into the actuator on the side of the turbo. Check it for full range of travel. Quick serve should have the specs for full travel measurements.

I took the air line off to the actuator and tried to move it by hand but it wouldn’t move so I put air pressure to it and it moved a good amount but I didn’t hear the turbo once the rod moved down.
