Just need the injectors out and the rocker shafts removed.

This only works on CM2250 and 2350 engines. Fuel/coolant cross-contamination on a CM570/870/871 is only rectified by replacing the cylinder head.

I had fuel & water cross contamination caused by a leaking injector cup. The crush rings may only be installed one time per Head I had them installed and it fixed my cross contamination I’m at 100k since the rings were installed.

I was getting a bit of water into my Water/Fuel separator. After a pressure test it was determined that I had an injector cup issue. Cummins did indeed replace all cups no head removal and so far 100k miles or so later no further issues.
Id bet anything they didn’t replace your cups, they installed crush rings a temporary fix. Just seen the other reply’s I can’t figure out ho to delete my irrelevant reply’s

RE: ISX15 CM2350 injector cups
There is aftermarket cups and tooling to replace them, with some modification to the tools it can be done without pulling the head off. By making an entirely different attachment we pull them using a Tiger tool cylinder. Zero issues to date in almost 3 years of having it as an option however not recommended by Cummins, if the rings don't work they will change the head. There is also things within the procedure of replacing cups with the head on that require extreme care to not get debris, shavings, contaminants in the engine.

Also noticing higher cup failure rate in reman heads especially 871's, going OEM new is worth the extra $200-600 and usually the day wait
