Looking for series 60 epa 07 advice
Looking at demandateing a 2009 Detroit series 60 with Egr and DPF as this engine is in need of an overhaul.
Looking for quality parts and someone who knows what they are doing as I know if not done properly can hurt things more than help. Not looking for big power, just a good driving reliable engine that will not let me down. Thanks!!

as far as "quality parts".... use OEM components only!. - Seen too many after-garbage components not last nearly as long as they should.. and that is nothing but a waste of moneys in the end.

Gearhead (in PA) was the only one who took the time to learn them properly, and he is no longer around to do them properly.

Do an egr tune-up + have the cans baked, etc. on it and keep everything intact. There is no one who does proper no-emmissions settings for the detroits properly. The idiots who claim to be 'experts' these days for them cannot even answer the most simple questions about them, nonetheless can make any proper adjustments for one when you take the stuffs off of it.

Anyone who would tell you different is either completely clueless or a lyer. All you are going to get is a shortened engine life in return for some fault-codes to disappear off the dash instead.

Thanks Rawze,
That’s what I am finding out there. Nothing where they can explain how the program works.
With all the knuckle heads out there running to hand cash out more than they take in and then wonder why they can’t afford to replace their junk with another piece of junk. I was
Looking to get it so it doesn’t eat its own ass and extend the life of it and squeeze every ounce of useful life out of the truck and save fuel but it is what it is. Thanks for your time….

When you mention an "EGR tune-up" on the Series 60 is that cleaning and restoring the EGR system back to spec, or more on the calibration side? Still getting the terminology down.

Adjust the valve clearances, replace IMAP, EMAP, differential pressure sensors. Clean egr cooler, sensors piping, intake if it is easily cleanable. Have the cans baked.
