RE: 2015 Intl Pro Star
So if I read your post correctly you currently own a pre-emmission tractor. Just out of curiosity, what is it about your current truck that makes you want to buy a different one?

New to this page. I want to start out by thanking Rawze for allowing me to join this page . Alot of knowledgeable people on here and as an O/O i feel i can learn alot on here. Im looking to purchase my first DEF/DPF truck. Looking for some feedback good or bad . Here are the facts.

1.) 2015 intl ProStar with Cummins ISX 450HP , 10 spd trans & 3.36 rears. Truck has 463000 MILES.
2.) New liners , rings and rod bearings in 2018. Most likely due to carbon packing.
3.) New turbo 2018.
4.) Fuel pump campaign 2017.
5.) New injector 2018 #6
6.) Test drove truck after inspecting . Truck drove great. (bobtail)
7.) Pulled oil sample after test run. Sent oil sample to Caterpillar lab. Oil was black. I was told by salesman oil was "possibly" changed in may 2019. Sample came back with Iron at 36 ppm.
8.) I sent truck to DYNO test next door to CUMMINS dealer. Per tech at Cummins truck did really well on Dyno test. Blowby is very minimal like new engine and boost was at 27 psi at 1499 rpms and 51 mph. Oil pressure @ 39 psi and blowby was 3.58. Per tech no fault codes or check engine light during dyno.
9.) Based on this info I made an offer to purchase truck.
10.) Dealer has agreed to clean DPF filter prior to me taking possesion.
11.) Truck has 14000 total hours .
12.) Truck has had some emissions related sensors replaced.
13.) After DYNO i was told by cummins front cover is leaking and gear housing gasket might be going. I was told that was a common issue. I requested truck be black lighted for oil leaks.
14.) Coolant was green which concerned me. I requested that it be changed to red coolant and coolant filter be replaced.

I feel im getting truck at a very good price. Its a buyers market at the moment and i need a sleeper. I know these engines have some issues but which ones dont? im also a big Cummins fan. I feel ive done my homework. Pls any feedback good or bad I would greatly appreciate it as I have not signed anything yet.

You want a solid truck? I have one for sale, 2008 ProStar, 244" WB, road ready, fresh in frame, in Rawze's driveway, 600 hp CM-871, 18 Spd, 3:42 gears, NEW Tri-Pac, NEW Alpine Stereo, 4 amps and sub, $1000 mattress in the sleeper, Wet kit, New Herd Defender Bumper, and more new parts than you can shake a stick at. The only thing I have yet to replace is the steering box and king pins, because they are fine.

PM me if you are interested. You may find things to spend money on with my truck if you purchase, but it will be little things, stupid things, maybe an actuator, or removing something to shed weight, but nothing that will leave you stranded or looking to call your family and friends to borrow money, like in frame money when you are stranded on the side of the road in BFE.

Again, PM me if you want a solid rig.

Nothing is wrong with it. Its a 2000 Freightliner century day cab. It has a Cummins ISM / M11 its rated at 330/370 hp with a 10 spd and 3.07 rears. I just need a sleeper and more power.

RE: 2015 Intl Pro Star
Ive got a 15 prostar specd like that. Good truck for the most part. Fuel pump cost cummins a new motor about 20k mi b4 the warranty ended (and myself 3 weeks off work). Id plan on demandating that 2350 engine asap, plan on inframing in another 400k and reducing compression at that time (just my opinion, and u know what they say about those) I have plans to put in a 13 or 18 in mine to reduce engine stress from those 3.36 gears and slow Louisiana speed limits with 100k lb loads (i have to drive 63-65 in 10th or i have to drop to 9th and run 45ish) rawze will contest me on this but IMO a 10 speed is prty decent paper weight. In the 15s International fixed some of the air conditioning issues they had with the older models, it still has cab air struts but those are easily swapped to better equipment same as the older prostars. Other than that its a damn good truck for half the price of one them paccar products everbody raves about. Hope it helps.

RE: 2015 Intl Pro Star
Being 6' 2" I like the t680 to me it has a great dash design and more room behind the seats right now in the Lonestar the back of my seat is against the cabinet making me sit forward uncoy but is perfect for my legs. Also I think the engine sits better Underwood for being worked on. Also t680 has bunk escape doors available which also work great for taking stuff I /out and I haven't seen a real price difference between int and Kenworth speced with Cummins
