| Another typical (bad) CM870 delete ... Just what the title says. Another typical (bad) CM870 delete. Actually, 2 files were sent to me, one supposedly de-mandate but leaves the 565hp-1850trq alone, and the other one with some 'tweaks' that was supposed to be same but has power (supposedly) changed to 600hp-2050trq. It is a bad delete for sure. Welcome to the bad delete club. BOTH programs are engine killers. The vehicle owner says something about the engine fan coming on all the time with the 'added power' program. No wonder, its garbage-can tuning at its best. The vehicle owner unfortunately however claimed that the 565 file 'seemed to run good '.. but this is exactly WHY people convince themselves that their de-mandate program must be the rarest program of the year, and is somehow ok. This is as far from reality as it gets. - Here is why... The vehicle owner also claims that 'this tuning guy', who shoved these horrible, corrupt programs into his ecm, is claiming that all his issues are with the engine / mechanical. - How convenient, eh?... - My suggestion.. let your 'tuning guy' see this post and let them know that what they are doing needs some serious improvements! so that they stop causing damage to every red engine they touch. Also to get this crap out of that engine and have it re-done properly. ===================================================================== Here is what was seen in the file when reviewing these programs ... engine ser# 79213175: calls for program = AB10352.xx from factory ... First Program: (non added power) ... The one that is claimed to 'run ok' ... == The Air inlet temp logic for high and extreme altitude conditions (4,000 feet and up) has been edited and essentially destroyed. NOTE: These setting(s) do NOT need to be edited for a de-mandate, or for power changes to happen. == engine operating mode control logic re-mapping is incomplete/incorrect. The ECM will NOT remain in its non-egr engine mode, causing ghost issues and progressive engine damage over time. == The fuel-air-mix settings for low altitude and non-egr engine modes has NOT been edited at all. This causes the engine to run too lean and become harmful to itself. == The fuel-air-mix settings for high and extreme altitude conditions (4,000 feet and up) has been edited incorrectly and essentially destroyed. - Did someone mistake these for the tables that they were supposed to actually edit?. Did someone use third garbage software like W*ols/Efi trash that is notorious for corrupting engine files and editing the wrong settings?.- Who knows for sure. == The injection timing tables were edited, and at low altitude and no-egr modes, they are not harmful, but for higher altitude modes, they are too far retarded, becoming problematic. NOTE: It looks like someone just dumped the same exact table into all modes with no regard to their needs. == The turbo RPM upper boundary is set to NOT allow over-spool errors, allowing it to destroy itself without any alarms. == Surge and other over-spool and power-boost protection logic has been damaged or disabled. == Intake air flow estimation logic/estimation has been removed/damaged. NOTE: These setting(s) do NOT need to be edited for a de-mandate, or for power changes to happen. == Some logic settings that are supposed to only be set to a '1' or a '0' are set to erroneous values. This is evidence of file corruption either by programming mistakes, or by third party software corruption?. == Aux. emissions settings are incomplete or have been missed. This will make the boost levels unstable under hard acceleration and/or high power requests. == The axis/reference headers on fuel-mix, injection timing and other tables has been heavily damaged. This is evidence of file corruption either by programming mistakes, or by third party software corruption?. == Fuel-flow settings for LP-Gas (optional westport lp gas injection system), which are completely disabled on this engine, have been damaged or destroyed. NOTE: This is a clear sign that someone does not know what these settings are for... or is a result of file corruption. == Some EGR settings were done incorrectly (set the wrong direction). this can create ghost issues. Second Program: (added power) ... == this program has ALL the issues of the first program, however, it is set more harmful... == Injection timing has been set to EXTREMELY HARMFUL LEVELS for the engine. This will significantly shorten engine life, leading to head gasket failures at higher power levels. == The timing actuator delay has been set to harmful position(s) at higher power levels. This will significantly shorten engine life, leading to head gasket failures at higher power levels. == Fuel quantity data has been heavily damaged in attempts to dump fuel in' against the ecm's will. This will trigger engine overload logic and cause the engine to fight directly against this ghost power being produces that it is not commanding. NOTE: This may very well be why the engine fan comes on in a ghost fashion, as the ecm will fight tooth and nail to bring the power back down that has been added against its will. The engine fan activation (to help force a reduction in engine power output) for engine overload conditions has not been switched off. This is likely the trigger for the ghost engine fan issues that 'seems to come and go' at will, or happen during hard acceleration. The ecm is trying to protect itself from the {garbage-settings} unknown quantities of fuel being dumped in against its will. == The power curve is set to have the engine try to make more than 800+HP,.. and NOT the 600/2050 that it was set to advertise itself as. - this is a lie and is also EXTREMELY HARMFUL!.
