so i ordered another glider, it will be built in a few months. Question i have and my internal debate is, CAT c16 or a custom built signature 600, 870, or 871, non vgt? I'm planning on having either one set to 750ish hp. I've had a C16 and loved it but its not the best on fuel.....BUT nothing is the best on fuel hauling cattle, or hauling hay stacked to 13.6 on a flat bed. Performance and reliability are more important to me than fuel mileage.
What is all of your opinion? Can a well built isx out perform a C16 reliably? would i be better off sticking with the C16?
First question..
Why non vgt?

Haven't had he best luck with them honestly. i love the jakes i get with the vgt, but hate the price tag to replace them.
I just spent a year driving a c16 set at 600hp .....to compare it to a 2018 isx15 at 565hp? the isx would pull down to 1400rpm cat 1500rpm ...jake was way better on isx and the cat had retarder along with jake .....the c16 I drove was better on fuel than an acert c15 we had by far ....not sure how it compared to millage on isx I only drove it once in awhile.
C16 was probably more reliable and I only say this as the isx was new and ended up back in shop several times for different issues .....haha! yeah they put on a new turbo ... I seen somewhere that you can get 1000hp out of c16 with stock parts ....I would lean to the c16 ....but then I have always liked cat engines.

instead of butchering the isX into a garbage dump,.. use the C16 so you can abuse the hell out of it, brag about your "yellow motor" like a true super-trucker, and waste fuel like a fool... Enjoy the view---

BECAUSE YOUR FUNDING these guys ....
