RE: Isx leak
That is nasty. No way to tell with all that oil and crud all over everything.

- Use some charcoal lighter fluid (or diesel fuel) in a pan (or garden sprayer) and a paint brush, zip-tied to a stick, to break up all the oil deposits. Clean it all up good.

Be sure to follow it up with liberal amount of soap and water mix (typically in a garden sprayer) to wash away the cleaning agent too, so that it is not a fire hazard when you go to crank it up.

RE: Isx leak
So I had all gasket replaced. Everything marked with blue was replaced. Still leaking like a bitch. But I took a deeper dive again and again and came to the conclusion it’s the oil filler housing that the leak is coming from. But my question is can the oil filler cause all this damn oil.

And yes it was spray down at the shop and cleaned but it won’t leak while idling only when driven for miles.

What do ya’ll think? I know that oil filler has 2 gasket inside I think.

Do all that Rawze talks about above^^^^^ then take it for a 5 or 10 mile drive, then look for the leak. Leaking that much oil it won't be hard to find but with everything covered in oil already how can anyone possibly find it ????

Your just blindly replacing parts without any idea where the problem actually is.

RE: Isx leak
Well when I first got it back from the shop I drove it to the TruckStop about 50 miles and the first place I saw oil was here on this module. This the pictures I took that same day

RE: Isx leak
So where did that oil come from? It can't be the case that ONLY the turbo actuator box has oil on it and there's no oil anywhere else.

This isn't even a hard problem to figure out, you just need to look around a bit more. You might need a mirror or a flashlight or something but there's no reason you couldn't follow the oil trail from that turbo box back to the area it originated from.

Clean the engine REAL good, then put shop air to the fan clutch so the fan can't come on and blow leaking oil around. Start it up and find a way to hold(a stick between pedal and seat) the rpm's steady around 1600 or so.

Now give it a few minutes and start looking around for oil running out from somewhere. Just don't overheat it because now the fan is disabled. Shouldn't take very long to find the leak.

RE: Isx leak
Thanks on the replies.Well when I trace it back it’s literally dripping from the oil fill housing at the bottom. Another thing to note is the oil filler assembly area is the highest point on the engine I can find oil. The thing that puzzles me is; can that cause all that oil leak? I will try do what you said earlier on

Looks like that filler assembly would be capable of some serious mess. The picture you have shows dirt sticking to the top side, but not the bottom which is most likely due to a continuous flow across the surface. Maybe not all of your leak, but looks like a good bit of it from what the picture shows. Looks like the fan is pushing the leak from the filler joint onto the the front cover as well, according to the streaking down the surface.

RE: Isx leak
He’s gonna have it back tomorrow. I’m about 90% sure the filler neck has a crack in it but the only way to know is to clean it up and see.

RE: Isx leak
Also, make sure that the thing is not building any crank case fumes pressures. Any pressure in the crank case will push oil out on multiple places... and is really bad for the engine, turbo, and overhead cams.
