RE: X15 Turbo Actuator failure? I couldn't get 7.6.2 to connect to my X15. I believe it works on some of the older ones but your probably better off just getting the newer version for an X15 to be sure. Also I think some of the X15 codes might not come up right on 7.6.2

RE: X15 Turbo Actuator failure? Updating with resolution. Peterbilt diagnosed it as an actuator failure the code was 5177 and only active shortly after start up or key on in the morning after sitting for awhile. They replaced the actuator and ive gone several days now with no problems so Im considering this resolved! Thanks everyone for their input

RE: X15 Turbo Actuator failure? Late to the party here, but for anyone interested in knowing, x15s are having a high rate of failure on vgt actuators. Also throwing codes for improper calibration, but actuator has never been off before. Seeing it lots on stock trucks, and parts shortage for actuators.

RE: X15 Turbo Actuator failure? Yep, the X15 actuator's are well known to be subpar compared to the older versions used on the ISX.

RE: X15 Turbo Actuator failure? Well, I guess it's my turn to have the X15 actuator failure. Today was the 2nd time within the last 3 weeks the engine decided to load up at idle upon a start-up (like the VGT was fully closed off). Thought it may have been a fluke the 1st time, but this time once I approached the actuator, I could hear the faint clicking/electronic sound. Truck has just under 500k on it at this point so the failure was inevitable. Really blows that these actuators aren't as reliable as the previous generation. Question for those who've done the actuator replacement... where are you guys getting them from? This a new Cummins/dealer item or maybe a YTS recon purchase? Appears that part number 4034188 is what my engine calls for.

RE: X15 Turbo Actuator failure? We have been getting ours from HD turbo out of Chicago.. Great people. The kids and I flew out there a while back and those guys have a top notch place. The build their own boards for these X15's Cummins had a bad design as far as the power feed to them and was a big issue even for HD but after a few swop outs the figured it out. What I like about them they over night the parts to us and when we had the one fail no questions ask sent a new one next day so they could get that one back and see what happens....
