| CM 870 exhaust manifold is leaking at seals. Want to replace the EGR section with non Hello all. Hope the trucking world is treating y’all well. I have an 04’ CM 870 that has the soot marks on the outside of the seals and I’m going to replace the seals and bolts but while I’m at it I want to replace the EGR end with a non EGR end. Would it be possible to even remove that end on a manifold that has 7-800k miles on it ? Reason for wanting to replace it is due to the blocker plate leaking no matter how many times I replace the gasket or clamp. The other route I might take is having a steel plate welded on there while it’s out. Also is the part number 3683870 for the manifold end without EGR ? | |||

Want to replace the EGR section with non Spray any rust penetrate into the slip joints and let it soak in for a moment, and once you got the rings in, use copper antiseize and lightly coat the slip joint surfaces. It makes taking them apart and back together a whole lot easier. | |||

| RE: CM 870 exhaust manifold is leaking at seals. Want to replace the EGR section with non Was thaught by Rawze to wet sand the flanges with a sanding stone until any high/low spots are gone. I found that scotchbite pads from an autoparts store works very well on getting the mating surfaces clean. Also when tightening the manifold to hit the slip joint ends on the center section and tighten a few times until they're snug, then start applying torque, Then repeat the above and retorqing. There's an aftermarket one that was mentioned on here awhile ago, but it was 50/50 if the slip joints leaked or not. Better to buy an OEM rear section and tap the hole into it. Forgot the thread pitch off the top of my head. Also found one of $10 Amazon plastic brake line bending tools make a really clean bend out of the exhaust pressure line. | |||

Replaced it with multilayer steel gaskets all studs and sleeve. Single piece Part number you are looking for without egr is 3682491. | |||
