RE: Ecm issue
I've got everything off other engine so thats no problem just the custom program is i guess. I dont care one way or the other about de-mandating one way or the other. I was going to not but I didn't know that was not an option.

So the question now is ... does it have the older ECM and older engine wiring harness on it?... or did you use the newer ECM and newer wiring harness?. - You still have not specified this.

And/or have you installed the older ecm and harness, now that you know better?

... and if you want to have a program made for it, then you need to get the engine running, codes cleared and resolved, etc ... (with the older harness and ecm), and then copy the program out of the ecm and e-mail it to me so that I can put all the proper data in it such as compression ratio, injector programming and compensations, fuel-air-mix, cam profile offsets, and all the other stuffs that belong to that different model engine.

RE: Ecm issue
Ok I haven't had the chance to change the wire harness but I did change the ecm to old one and the 4 codes disappeared but then this glaring scr derate showed up like you said. Now I'm not a mechanic I am just trying to get past this point and I dont have any problem doing that but I started it and it sounds definitely better with new ecm. So I'm just wondering if or would it be better to take truck and have ecm calibrated to this truck and then program like you said? Would that save a lot of work reprogramming for all that other stuff? Sorry if this is a stupid question but it seems feasible? If not I will get that wiring harness put on there? Just seems like there would be less programming required?

There is no factory program that will run that engine with the old ecm. I have to make one. - I already said what has to happen, so now its a matter of you just simply doing those things.

The program needs to be copied out of the ecm and sent to me all set up for the older ecm/engine, as if it had never been swapped out.

RE: Ecm issue
I hooked my diagnostic pc up to this with old ecm but not with old harness and cleared all the codes including the derate for scr and then I tried doing a forced regen and it worked exactly like it should? After it shut down I drove it a ways and everything works like it should now? I dont know what to think. Is it safe to drive it or not? No codes. Like I said I'm not much of a mechanic but it seems OK to drive.

RE: Ecm issue
Im not an expert on what your doing but you need the proper timing tables, turbo maps, injector trim/offsets etc. for the hardware your running. Even though it may seem ok its kinda like having a bad delete.

then the next step is the re-programming.
