I can update later, but there is another thread that other guys have done this already:

If you have brand new set it's already have charge R-410. What do you need is to connect pipes and vacuum it. Adapter https://www.amazon.com/PIONEER-Air-Condi...0a+adapter
vacuum pump with hoses https://www.ebay.com/i/201602338521?rt=n...602338521. Vacuum pump you can use every time you have to remove truck AC condenser or other AC repairs.

RE: APU or Generator
Well I had the mini split going for about 10 months, and I think I went through Shreveport to fast and sprung a Freon leak on it. Called someone local to check it out, topped off Freon after not finding leaks at the fittings. Ran cold for another 5 days, Freon gone again. So we decided to do this. I’ll have to report back in a few weeks and months to report on how it holding up.

I had a honda eu3000is.. It ran great to power my roof top AC. The problem is getting gas ALL The time.. i had a external gas tank but it weighs the truck down a lot. I Pulled it off and got a APU i pay $360 a month but its already paid for itself in fuel saving lol

The mini split is what I would like to do but may wait a while and do a window unit for now. You can also buy Pre charged units so you don’t need to hire an AC guy.

Yea I thought about how it must be a pain to get gas all the time.

I ran one with generator for a couple years. I never had trouble getting gasoline for it when needed. You do however need a metal/permanent mounting bracket for the gas can to sit in + some sort of catch/latch if you want to stay compliant. Simply strapping a gas can (or generator for that matter) to the catwalk is actually illegal, but I doubt anyone would bother you for it. - Ours was bolted down with some conduit clamps to the frame.

A diesel generator would definitely be ideal. If you ran a line from the main tank, would you need some kind of pump?
